Classroom Discipline 101 Success Story
"You must get so many emails telling you how right you are and thanking you for making it possible to enjoy teaching again. I can't believe how different I feel after just two days of implementing your rules. I teach 4th grade and I had to tweek them some, but I can only say it's a miracle.
I patiently waited with my 27 students standing in "line basics formation" waiting for the hoards of students to stampede by with their teachers yelling, or ignoring their behavior. The students never listened to them and they didn't expect them to. I quietly led my well behaved students to the classroom. Inside, for the first time ever, I had students working in pairs and they were speaking in whispers without me yelling at them to quiet down. I saw a student begin the first day disorganized, speaking out of turn, looking like trouble. By the next day she looked like a different person because I met each and every one of her challenges with clear firm communication of the rules. No one left miserable. No parents called and said I was being too hard. I FELT WONDERFUL and today when I was teaching a math lesson, all eyes were on me, bodies facing forward and feet on the ground.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I came home energized and ready for tomorrow! "
